AEC Software Announces Winner of Green Project Contest
-- Greater Philadelphia Commercial Recycling Council relies on FastTrack Schedule to manage large-scale green initiatives --
STERLING, VA—Feb 4, 2008—AEC Software, a leading developer of project-focused and business productivity solutions, announced today that David Biddle, Executive Director of the Greater Philadelphia Commercial Recycling Council (GPCRC), is the winner of AEC Software's "FastTrack Schedule Green Project Contest".
In an effort to champion customer efforts to go green, AEC Software's contest solicited user submissions describing how FastTrack Schedule has helped individuals, teams, and companies plan and manage green projects.
Biddle and his team at GPCRC are using FastTrack Schedule to help the Philadelphia International Airport (PHL) develop a multi-phase strategy for a comprehensive recycling and waste reduction program.
PHL has over 200 tenant companies, 30,000 employees, and a comprehensive waste stream in excess of 10,000 tons annually that includes enormous quantities of cardboard, plastic, scrap metal and wood, food waste, packaging, and mixed newspapers and magazines. As a result, the project is constantly in need of adjusting and re-scheduling to coordinate among all parties involved. Biddle has to keep track of shifts in resources, security timelines, and contracting and procurement schedules. Because everything is connected, one change affects dozens of goals and timetables across the span of the project.
"This project is one of the most comprehensive initiatives the GPCRC has been involved with � there are so many moving parts and continuous changes to keep an eye on," said Biddle.
